Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Angela Merkel to hold online summit

AKIPRESS.COM - The summit of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel will be held on March 12 in the form of videoconference, the president's press service reported.
The leaders of two countries will discuss relevant aspects of further expansion of bilateral partnership.
A special attention will be paid to implementation of the agreements reached at the top level, development of constructive political dialogue, advancement of joint projects and programs of commercial, economic, investment, financial, technical, cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
Views will be exchanged on relevant international and regional issues during the talks.
President Mirziyoyev made official visit to Germany in January 2019. German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier made return visit to Uzbekistan in May 2019.
The bilateral trade amounted to $829 million in 2020. Germany invested over $700 million in projects in Uzbekistan. Around 200 joint ventures function in Uzbekistan.
