AKIPRESS.COM - President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov met with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on March 11, the president's press service reported. The Presidents discussed current bilateral and multilateral cooperation and its prospects, measures of further development of effective cooperation.
President Mirziyoyev noted a high level of strategic partnership between two countries, expressed readiness for serious and large-scale cooperation with Kyrgyzstan and use of all available resources for attainment of this goal.
President Mirziyoyev said the agreement was reached on increase of bilateral trade, removal of all obstacles, expansion of cooperation between enterprises and businesses, increasing the number of joint ventures to 50, creation of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek Investment Fund, effective use of transport potential, cooperation in hydropower and energy sector, border issues, etc.
"Uzbekistan is committed to active and productive joint work for prosperity of our fraternal nations," President Shavkat Mirziyoyev stressed.
Sadyr Japarov said further consistent development of relations with Uzbekistan in all areas of bilateral cooperation remains one of top priorities in foreign policy of Kyrgyzstan.
He noted a positive dynamics in development of bilateral ties, direct and regular dialogue between the states due to close and trust-based contacts.
Japarov also took a note of progress in delimitation of Kyrgyz-Uzbek state border and underlined importance of continuation and intensification of the negotiation process.
"The Kyrgyz side is ready for constructive and productive dialogye on all problem issues. I am convinced we will be able to reach mutually beneficial solution of border issues together," Sadyr Japarov stated.
Kyrgyzstan attaches a particular attention to expansion and deepening of commercial, economic cooperation, President Japarov said and expressed readiness for joint work on creation of favorable conditions for access of goods and services to the market of two countries with the purpose of increase of bilateral trade to $2 billion.
The President of Kyrgyzstan also welcomed the reached agreement on establishment of the Investment Fund for financing of joint investment projects and expressed confidence the whole range of bilateral cooperation will be continued through the joint efforts.
