Tashkent tightens COVID-19 precautionary measures in public transport amid surge in coronavirus cases

AKIPRESS.COM - The control over respect of COVID-19 precautionary measures will be tightened in public transport in Tashkent.
"In view of the current epidemiological situation and with the purpose of prevention of spread of COVID-19 and various seasonal infections in public transport, all passengers are required to wear medical masks, to observe quarantine restrictions and sanitary norms," the public transport company said.
Temperature of public transport drivers will be tested regularly. Disinfection of public transport will be ramped up.
Passengers without masks will not be allowed to board.
The number of daily coronavirus cases has surged in Uzbekistan since March 12. According to the Ministry of Health, Uzbekistan registered the biggest daily number of coronavirus cases for the last months for March 14 - 111 cases.
