AKIPRESS.COM - First Deputy Prime Minister Artem Novikov held a government meeting on Meken Card Project, the government's press service reported.
"The law entered into force on 4 August 2020, but it remains unimplemented. It is necessary to undertake actions for implementation of the provision on compatriots with foreign citizenship," Artem Novikov said.
In accordance with the law, foreign nationals having status of compatriot with foreign nationality are granted certain rights and privileges, the First Deputy PM stated.
Meken Card is the document of a compatriot with foreign nationality proving the status of expat with foreign nationality.
Meken Card allows its holders to enter Kyrgyzstan without visas, to live in Kyrgyzstan without application for permanent residence card, to work in Kyrgyzstan without work permit, to obtain medical assistance and education services on equal conditions with citizens of Kyrgyzstan.
The financial costs related to making Meken Card, development of the respective automated information system will be calculated within a week.
All legal procedures are planned to be completed before April 1. Issuance of Meken Card is planned since September 1, 2021.
