Fuel prices 20-22% up since January in Kyrgyzstan

AKIPRESS.COM - The total market demand for fuels and lubricants in Kyrgyzstan is 1 200 000 tons. Crude oil demand is 50 000 tons, gasoline - 460 000 tons, diesel fuel - 480 000 tons, jet fuel - 100 000 tons, said Keneshbai Tailakov, Deputy Director of the State Antimonopoly Regulation Agency during the briefing in the government.
The Agency requested oil traders in Kyrgyzstan to stock up on fuel to avoid unreasonable price hikes and not to violate on the rights of consumers, he said.
Oil producing countries see the growth in prices of fuels and lubricants by more than 50%, he said.
"We have an increase of 20-22% since January 2021. Our main demand is to respect the interests of consumers," he added.
