AKIPRESS.COM - Kyrgyzstan will receive 500,000 doses of Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine on humanitarian basis in accordance with the agreement reached at the meeting with President Vladimir Putin during visit of President Sadyr Japarov to Russia, Health Minister Alymkadyr Beishenaliev said.
He said the talks are in progress now and Sputnik V will be delivered in the nearest time.
"On March 19 we will receive 150,000 doses of Sinopharm vaccine from China. This will suffice for 75,000 people. We will start vaccination of population upon arrival of Sputnik V and Sinopharm vaccines," Minister Beishenaliev said.
"We also await vaccines through COVAX program. We will use vaccines that will be delivered to Kyrgyzstan. We have developed the national vaccination program," Minister Beishenaliev said.
Kyrgyzstan will use several vaccines, Health Minister Beishenaliev said.
Vaccination against coronavirus infection will start in late March or in April.
"We held talks with the governments of Russia, China and COVAX program," the Minister said.
