AKIPRESS.COM - "We should vaccinate 3.5 million or 4 million people in Kyrgyzstan to achieve around 70% collective immunization," Minister of Health and Social Development Alymkadyr Beishenaliev said.
Kyrgyzstan is in talks with other countries that can provide vaccines free of charge, the Health Minister said.
"We will receive 500,000 doses of vaccines from Russia for 250,000 people; 150,000 doses from China for 75,000 people. If we reach agreement with the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization, we may cover 1 million people. We will have to buy vaccines for the rest people. This is why were are in talks with the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, Islamic Development Bank and other institutions, which may help us with purchase of vaccines," Health Minister Beishenaliev said.
The Health Minister said prevalence rate will drop upon coverage of 70% of country population with vaccination, according to WHO.
