Over 6 tons of sumalak cooked in Uzbekistan for Nowruz holiday

AKIPRESS.COM - Some 6.2 tons of sumalak was cooked in Namangan on occasion of Nowruz holiday, marking start of spring.
Sumalak is a sweet paste made from young wheatgrass, which is prepared especially for Nowruz in a large pot.
Sumalak cooked by 20 chefs was served to visitors, and delivered to orphanages.
The program of celebrations included performances by folklore ensembles, groups.
Children from poor families were gifted bicycles and other gifts.
