98% of healthcare workers receive first dose of COVID-19 vaccine in Mongolia

AKIPRESS.COM - 12,573 people received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in Ulaanbaatart on March 22.
A total of 223,444 people received first dose of vaccine so far nationwide, including 218,400 people in Ulaanbaatar and 5,044 people in Umnugobi aimag, since the vaccination campaign launched on February 23, Montsame reports.
According to the WHO recommendations, 98 percent of healthcare workers and 99 percent of personnel of other organizations that are working in the frontline to fight the COVID-19 have been inoculated. In Ulaanbaatar, about 185,000 people aged 50-64 are currently eligible for the first dose, of whom 19.5 percent have been inoculated. In addition, people over the age of 65 and those who had the transplants started receiving the first dose on March 22.
