AKIPRESS.COM - The Turkic Cooperation Council Summit will be held in form of a videoconference due to deterioration of COVID-19 situation, the Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan said.
"The Kazakh side made the decision to hold the informal Turkic Council Summit planned for March 31 in Turkestan in the form of video conference. The secretariat of the Turkic Cooperation Council was informed about this decision," the Foreign Ministry said.
All leaders of the Turkic Cooperation Council member states, as well as Prime Minister of Hungary that has observer status in the Organization, planned to attend the event. On March 22, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan canceled his trip to Kazakhstan after he decided to attend the event remotely.
The Turkic countries planned to declare Turkestan the spiritual capital of Turkic world.
Founded in 2009, the Turkic Council includes Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey and Uzbekistan. Hungary has observer status in the Organization.
