AKIPRESS.COM - Bishkek city authorities have phased plan in case of worsening of coronavirus situation in the city, vice mayor Aijan Chynybaeva said.
No lockdown on businesses and schools is planned, though, she said.
"We can go smoothly with the third wave if all sanitary rules are followed."
Aibek Umarov, chief specialist of the Sanitary and Environmental Inspectorate, said that awareness raising efforts are being done.
"In 2020, 3,961 subjects were checked, 607 warnings on violations of the imposed restrictions were given. Many citizens, business entities have already forgotten the hard times that were not so long ago," he said.
Inspections of businesses and other economic entities for compliance with sanitary norms have been enhanced according to city authorities' decision.
As of March 26, the total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Bishkek was 29,967, including 13,100 cases of pneumonia. 27,738 of them recovered and 763 died.
