AKIPRESS.COM - Five agreements were signed at the meeting of the intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation between Turkmenistan and Russia.
"In 2020, bilateral trade grew by 39.6% compared to 2019 and reached almost $1 billion. Russia's exports grew by 19.6%, imports doubled," Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk said.
The countries considered relevant aspects of cooperation in health care, industry, transport, trade, finances, education, the Russian government's press service reported.
The intergovernmental agreement on facilitation of interregional cooperation, the memorandum of cooperation between the Russian Customs Service and State Statistics Committee of Turkmenistan on exchange of statistical data on bilateral trade were signed.
The Russian Customs Service and the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan signed a protocol for exchange of documents and information on customs value of goods moved between Russia and Turkmenistan.
The Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Well-Being and the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan signed an agreement of cooperation in introduction of international medical and sanitary rules.
The State Foreign Economic Bank of Turkmenistan and TransCapitalBank signed an agreement of cooperation.
The meeting was attended by co-chair from the Russian side, Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk, co-chair from the Turkmen side, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov, Deputy Prime Minister Serdar Berdimuhamedov, representatives of line ministries and agencies.
