AKIPRESS.COM - Some 38% of country population have SARS-CoV-2 antibodies according to seroprevalence study findings, Minister of Health and Social Development Alymkadyr Beishenaliev told Birinchi Radio.
"Those people who had mild symptoms of coronavirus infection do not have antibodies. We have many people who were not infected with coronavirus infection. So surge in coronavirus cases is quite possible. Those who were infected in June-July think they are protected from infection. But according to researchers, antibodies will last 8-12 months," the Health Minister said.
Coronavirus mutates and new variants emerge: UK, Brazil, South Africa variants, the Health Minister said.
"The mutations of the coronavirus will reach us anyway," the Minister said.
Kyrgyzstan sends samples to Novosibirisk, Russia, and Europe, he added.
"No coronavirus variants were registered in Kyrgyzstan yet luckily," the Health Minister said.
