AKIPRESS.COM - The Embassy of China commented on the information linking China's coronavirus vaccine with death of Deputy Director of the Consular Service Department of the Foreign Ministry of Kyrgyzstan Bakhtiyar Shakirov. "The Ministry of Health and Social Development officially denied this information and said that Bakhtiyar Shakirov as not vaccinated. The death of Bakhtiyar Shakirov is not linked with China's coronavirus vaccine. Some persons without confirmation of this fact spread the fake information in social networks causing negative reaction to the vaccine by general public. Such actions not only damage friendly relations between CHina and Kyrgyzstan, but also insult the passed away man. The Chinese side condemns such irresponsible and unfriendly behavior," said the statement.
China is one of the first countries in the world that developed the vaccine against Covid-19. China provided vaccines in form of humanitarian assistance to 47 countries. More than 70 countries authorized use of China's coronavirus vaccines. Safety and effectiveness of China's vaccines is widely recognized by the international community, the statement stressed.
Bakhtiyar Shakirov died in the night of April 1 in the National Maternal and Child Health Care Center in Bishkek, where he came for medical assistance. Media expert Elena Bayalinova citing Shakirov's relatives said Bakhtiyar was vaccinated against Covid-19 with China's Sinopharm vaccine. The Ministry of Health denied the fact, adding no pucture mark typical for vaccination was found in his upper arm. The police said Shakirov asked his familiar nurse working in the National Maternal and Child Health Care Center to make injection of some medications and drips he brought with him. Shortly after therapy the man felt bad and died there despite intensive care. The Director, Chief Doctor, ENT Department Chief and the nurse were temporarily suspended from office for the period of investigation.
