AKIPRESS.COM - More than 4 million new coronavirus cases were confirmed globally for the past week, according to the World Health Organization.
This is 5% more than in the previous week.
Covid-19 fatalities grew by 11% and reached 71,000 for the last 7 days.
Surge in new coronavirus cases is observed for 6 weeks in a row.
The highest growth in cases is observed in South-East Asia (especially in India) and western parts of the Pacific region. All countries, except for Africa, report about resurgence in deaths. The highest growth in fatalities - by 46% - is reported in South East Asia.
The biggest number of new coronavirus case were registered in India (over 513,000 new cases, 38% increase), Brazil (505,000 cases, 5% reduction), USA (444,000; +5%), Turkey (265,000; +43%), France (244,000; -4%).
Kyrgyzstan registered 1,001 new coronavirus cases and 11 deaths from March 31 to April 6. Compared to the previous weeks, daily cases grew for 187, deaths increased for 3.
