AKIPRESS.COM - Hundreds of people gathered in front of the building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on April 8 in Bishkek for a peaceful protest following the high-profile murder of the kidnapped woman.
27-year-old Aizada Kanatbekova was kidnapped in the morning of April 5 in Bishkek and was found dead inside the car with her abductor Zamirbek Tenizbaev two days later outside Bishkek.
Zamirbek strangled the victim with his T-shirt and then cut himself with knife to death. Their bodies were discovered in the car by a local shepherd. The murder caused a nationwide outcry.
The protesters said they would not disperse until Interior Minister Ulan Niyazbekov meets with them. They demand his resignation.
MPs Natalia Nikitenko and Dastan Bekeshev joined the protesters.
The Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs came out to the protesters, who shouted "Shame" at him.
Later on, the protesters went from the Interior Ministry building to the Government House located nearby. Prime Minister Ulukbek Maripov came out to the protesters.
The crowd shouted "Shame!" and "You had two days!"
Maripov told the protesters that this case is under the control of the President and the Prime Minister.
Maripov also asked time for investigation.
