AKIPRESS.COM - The third coronavirus wave is expected in late May and early June in Kyrgyzstan, Minister of Health and Social Development Alymkadyr Beishenaliev said.
This is explained with that Covid-19 antibodies last from 8 months to 1 year, he said.
"The bulk of population was infected with COVID-19 and recovered in June-July 2020. Some had mild symptoms and the level of their antibodies is low. They may infect others. For this reason we are undertaking proactive actions," the Health Minister said.
The daily coronavirus cases are rising ahead of the third way, he added.
"Prevalence rate is growing in Bishkek and Chui region," Minister Beishenaliev said.
The first coronavirus wave occurred in June-July 2020. The second occurred in November-December.
240 new daily coronavirus cases were registered by the morning of April 14, which is the biggest number of daily cases for the past 4 months.
