AKIPRESS.COM - Kyrgyz wrestler Meerim Jumanazarova won her first gold medal at the Asian Wrestling Championships in Almaty, Kazakhstan on April 15. She defeated athletes from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Korea and Mongolia four times in a row to become the new Asian champion in women's 68kg.
In 2018 Asian Wrestling Championships in Bishkek, Jumanazarova was third losing in the semifinals, and a year later in China, she lost again in the semifinals and won bronze again.
Apart from that, Jumanazarova is a three-time Asian junior champion.
At the awards ceremony when the Kyrgyz anthem was played she could not hold back her tears and cried.
