Scientist and professor Gulzat Alieva detained for Facebook post

AKIPRESS.COM - Scientist and professor Gulzat Alieva was detained for inciting to inter-religious and inter-regional hatred for her post on Facebook.
On April 21, Alieva was summoned for interrogation with police and then arrested.
Criminal probe into incitement to racial, ethnic, religious, regional hatred was launched, police said.
The detainee's publications contain "linguistic features of provocative actions against any religion or person professing it, as well as linguistic features reflecting humiliating nature of a particular religion and its followers, negative emotional assessments and negative attitude," the police statement said.
Gulzat Alieva's Facebook page is receiving posts of support and demands for her release with some calling her detention "a crackdown on scientific intellectuals."
