Kyrgyz border service denies reports on "detaining and beating Tajik children", calls for refraining from escalating tensions

AKIPRESS.COM - Reports alleging "beating of two Tajik schoolchildren by Kyrgyz border guards" that circulated on Tajik Internet space are untrue, said the State Border Service of Kyrgyzstan in a statement. After reports emerged online, a telephone conversation took place between the border guards of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. During talks, the Tajik side officially denied the detention and beating of Tajik schoolchildren by Kyrgyz border guards.
Border guard representatives of Tajikistan admitted that the report about the detention of Tajik schoolchildren was fake.
The State Border Service called on the Tajik side to refrain from baseless accusations of the Kyrgyz side and refrain from any statements that could escalate tensions on the state border.
