Peaceful rally on Kyrgyz-Tajik border situation takes place in Bishkek

AKIPRESS.COM - A peaceful rally on the situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border scheduled for 2 p.m. is taking place in front of the government building in Bishkek on April 29.
The crowd demanded President Sadyr Japarov, Prime Minister Ulukbek Maripov and National Security Committee chief Kamchybek Tashiev to meet with them and answer their questions.
They also propose to make a list of volunteers ready to go to defend the borders.
They put forward 14 demands to the authorities, including closure of the border and recalling the Kyrgyz Ambassador to Tajikistan to Bishkek for consultations.
Tajik citizens reportedly began attacking citizens of Kyrgyzstan and their houses with stones since early morning of April 29. They threw stones also in the cars on Isfana-Osh road belonging to Kyrgyz citizens. The fire was opened by Tajik citizens into the military unit in Kok-Tash village today.
Gunfire and rock-throwing were reported in the Golovnoy Vodorazdel area. Residents are sending video from the scene. They assume that the shots are fired from a mortar. 4 people were reportedly injured.
