Uzbekistan calls upon Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan to address border issues through talks

AKIPRESS.COM - Uzbekistan is seriously concerned about escalation of situation on Kyrgyz-Tajik border leading to injuries from both sides, the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan reported on April 29. "We call upon the sides for immediate stop of clashes, adoption of joint measures on stabilization of the situation and to refrain from actions that may lead to further escalation of tension," the statement said.
All issues and problems should be addressed through talks and consultations in the spirit of centuries-old friendship, good neighborhood and partnership, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.
Uzbekistan is ready to provide all possible assistance in the soonest regulation of the situation, the statement concluded.
