Tajikistan ready to address border delimitation issues with Kyrgyzstan - Foreign Ministry

AKIPRESS.COM - Foreign Minister of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Mukhriddin held phone talks with Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev on April 29, the Foreign Ministry of Tajikistan said.
The Foreign Ministers discussed the complex situation in border areas of two countries.
The Foreign Minister of Tajikistan noted development of relations with the neighboring countries, with which Tajikistan has centuries-old ties of friendship and good neighborhood, is priority in foreign policy of the country.
Minister Mukhriddin underscored Tajikistan is committed to address the issues related to delimitation and demarcation of the border with Kyrgyzstan through talks and in view of its national interests.
Tajikistan will never cede the land owned since ancient times, Foreign Minister Mukhriddin stated.
The Foreign Ministers stressed importance of resolution of all border issues exceptionally through talks and noted inadmissibility of attempted provocations by interested individuals that lead to further escalation of the situation.
Lack of trust in border areas may lead to recurrence of incidents and serious consequences, the Foreign Ministers said.
