Tashiev to Batken residents: "We have all powers and capabilities"

"We don't have a goal to take over even one meter of land from them. At the same time, we will not give up a meter of our land. You are concerned now. We have all the powers and capabilities. Their leaders have called and we are going to have a meeting. Governor Omurbek Suvanaliev and me. Now the most important thing is to settle situation, and then we'll continue," he said.
According to some reports, the meeting will be held in the border area in the village of Kok-Tash of the Ak-Sai rural district.
No one wants escalation of the conflict, Tashiev said. "The most important thing is to save people's lives and health. Houses, other buildings burned. We will restore it all. But we cannot bring back those killed. That's why we need to stop all this now. We need your help in resolving the conflict. We need peace and unity, we need to act together," said Tashiev.
Tensions on the border of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan escalated on April 28-29 and exchange of fire occurred between the military units of two sides.
13 Kyrgyz citizens were killed, including a 12-year-old girl. At least 134 Kyrgyzstanis were injured.
