AKIPRESS.COM - The conflict on the border of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan should be stopped. The situation should be regulated in a peaceful manner, Collective Security Treaty Organization Secretary General Stanislav Zas said, Interfax.ru reported.
"The CSTO thinks this conflict should be stopped. It should be resolved in a peaceful manner. All necessary actions are undertaken to regulate the conflict," CSTO press secretary Vladimir Zainetdinov cited Stanislav Zas as saying.
The CSTO closely follows and studies the situation on the Tajik-Kyrgyz border, the press secretary said.
"The CSTO Secretary General staying in Dushanbe discussed the current situation with the Security Council Secretaries of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan," Zainetdinov said.
At least 13 Kyrgyzstanis died and 134 were wounded as a result of the Kyrgyz-Tajik border conflict on April 29.
The Collective Security Treaty Organization includes Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan.
