AKIPRESS.COM - First Deputy Prime Minister Artem Novikov visited evacuees in Batken region, the government's press service reported April 30. 7,093 local residents were evacuated from the villages of Kok-Tash, Ak-Sai, Tash-Tumshuk, Uch-Dobo, Min-Uruk, Min-Bulak, Paska-Aryk, Samarkandek, Dostuk, Kyzyl-Bel and Kara-Bak in Batken district, and 6,079 residents relocated to their relatives' places.
The evacuees are safe and provided with hot meals and basic necessities, the statement said.
Novikov heads a government taksforce to resolve and study the situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border.
He stays in Batken region and coordinates the work of the involved state bodies and local authorities.
