AKIPRESS.COM - One of the evacuated women from Batken district gave birth to twins in Kadamjay district of Batken region, Kunduzkhan Isakova, the Kadamjay Help movement staff member, said. Condition of the mother and her children is currently assessed as stable.
Aichurok Joldoshova, 32, from Kyzyl-Jol village gave birth to a baby boy and a baby girl at 08:35 on May 2.
In addition, on May 1, two babies were born by evacuated residents. A 28-year-old Dilfuzakhon Tashtemirova gave birth to a baby girl at 6:30 p.m. Another woman Kairynsa Ganybek kyzy, 31, from Kara-Bak village, gave birth to a baby girl at 6.45 pm.
Two more women are about to give birth.
Tensions on the border of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan escalated on April 28-29 and exchange of fire occurred between the military units of two sides. 34 Kyrgyz citizens were killed, including a 12-year-old girl. 173 other Kyrgyzstanis were injured. Some 33,388 people were displaced from the villages in Batken region, 19,142 children among them, Deputy Minister of Health and Social Development Aliza Soltonbekova told a briefing. Residents of Ak-Sai, Ak-Tatyr, Kara-Bak, Samarkandek villages of Batken district and Jany-Jer, Beshkent, Kulundu villages of Leilek district were evacuated.
