AKIPRESS.COM - As of May 5, the situation in all districts and villages of Batken region and on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border is stable, said the Kyrgyz Interior Ministry. Police officers control all border villages. First Deputy Minister of Interior Suyun Omurzakov conducted a meeting with the heads of 48 investigation groups looking into and counting the damages of social objects, houses and other facilities affected by the armed conflict on the border, namely in the villages Arka-1, Arka-2, Maksat, Kulundu, International, and Jashtyk. Police stations in the villages of Kulundu, Jany-Jer, Kok-Tash and International in the Leilek district were also damaged. A police station in Maksat village of Leilek district was completely burned down. In addition, the building of the police station in the village of Jany-Jer in the Leilek district was attacked, and all the furniture was destroyed and looted.
The Batken Department of Internal Affairs found that two police Gazelle and Niva vehicles were damaged as a result of the shelling. The military unit 707 of the Interior Ministry Troops located in the village of Kok-Tash was shelled.
Omurzakov listened to the preliminary reports on the investigation and gave instructions to complete the investigation as soon as possible.
