President Japarov suggests world assembly of Kyrgyz people

AKIPRESS.COM - President Sadyr Japarov suggested to hold the world assembly of Kyrgyz people.
"If we had been weak people with low potential, we would have been lost in history without keeping our name and would have disappeared like many other people," President Sadyr Japarov said in his address to the nation on May 5.
"We should not forget that we have kept our heritage and our name "The Kyrgyz" for dozens of centuries in Eurasia. This is why people of Kyrgyzstan need to find their way through Kyrgyz identity and in other words to find own model of economic development," Japarov said.
Japarov suggested to hold kurultay (assembly) for a broad, open and comprehensive discussion of "such important and significant goal."
"Each nation builds life on the basis of its own values. Our people had two values since ancient times - freedom and justice. Our people will not tolerate injusice and will not accept life which restricts their rights. We need to introduce the concept of 'natural governance', 'governance in line with national features of Kyrgyz ethnicity.' Its main principle is to make decisions in view of positions and interests of our citizens. For this reason the kurultay option was enshrined in the Constitution," Japarov said.
