AKIPRESS.COM - MegaCom mobile company can be privatized and sold out, according to former Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Temir Sariev. Compared to state-run enterprises, the private companies seem much more advantageous, because they have simpler management. They make decisions very quickly and, most importantly, they are interested in profit, Sariev said.
Whereas state-owned enterprises make decisions longer and have stronger control. "In general, heads of state-run enterprises in most cases are not interested in making profit," he assumed.
If competition is high, it is better that all market participants are private, he believes.
"For example, we have three mobile operators Nur Telecom, Beeline and MegaCom. 2 of them are private and 1 is state-owned. There is a lot of competition, so MegaCom can be privatized and sold out," said the former prime minister.
The main goal for the state is to create equal conditions for all actors in the market economy, he said.
There is no sense to keep trade and industrial companies as a state property, he added.
