AKIPRESS.COM - The Ministry of Health does not plan to impose restrictions in Bishkek, said Minister Alymkadyr Beishenaliev. "We talked to representatives of the President and the Prime Minister. We cannot impose restrictions like other nations now. Last year, quarantine severely damaged the economy making people's lives harder. After restrictions were lifted in May and June, people started contacting each other and it led to the surge in coronavirus cases," said the minister.
He advised people from other regions not to come to Bishkek without urgency.
"Young people are the ones who contract the virus and infect their parents and grandparents. Older people often have chronic diseases that are aggravated by the coronavirus," the minister explained.
