Foreign Ministers of Tajikistan and China hold talks

AKIPRESS.COM - Foreign Minister of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin met with China's State Councilor, Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi on May 11 in Xian. The Foreign Ministers discussed development of bilateral relations and expressed mutual interest in strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation between Tajikistan and China in various fields, the Foreign Ministry of Tajikistan said.
The Ministers also considered implementation of the agreements reached during the telephone conversations between the leaders of Tajikistan and China, signing of new bilateral documents, coordination of joint activities in various formats, including within the framework of meetings of the Joint Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation and political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan and China.
Importance of expanding trade, economic, investment, scientific and technical ties between the two countries, expanding inter-parliamentary relation, cooperation in the field of industry and energy, culture, tourism and other spheres was stressed.
Other issues related to the expansion of bilateral relations between Tajikistan and China within the framework of international and regional organizations and cooperation between the two countries in COVID-19 pandemic response were also discussed.
The program of cooperation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan and the People's Republic of China for 2021-2022 was signed following the talks.
