Bishkek local election commission invalidates local council election results

AKIPRESS.COM - Bishkek local election commission today invalidated voting results in the local council elections held on April 11.
The local council has 45 seats. 228 polling stations were opened. 25 parties registered to run in the elections. 419,901 voters were registered. 134,058 or 31.8% of voters have voted.
The results of voting ahead of day of vote outside polling stations and voting results at 23 polling stations were canceled earlier.
The local election commission withdrew NDPK, Emgek, Ak Bata parties from the elections. 60,351 votes (45.02%) were invalidated.
According to the law on local council elections, when voting results are annulled at polling stations making more than one third of voters who cast ballots, the election results are invalidated.
All decisions made by Bishkek local election commission will be forwarded to the Central Election Commission.
Five parties overcame 7% election threshold in local council elections, including Ata Jurt Kyrgyzstan, Ak-Bata, NDPK, Emgek, Our People.
