Uzbekistan and Tajikistan seek to boost bilateral trade up to $1 billion

AKIPRESS.COM - The 8th meeting of Uzbekistan-Tajikistan intergovernmental commission for commercial and economic cooperation under co-chairmanship of Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov and Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kohir Rasulzoda took place in Tashkent.
The sides discussed a broad range of further expansion of cooperation between two countries in the light of the upcoming visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Tajikistan.
The talks addressed potential opportunities for further growth of bilateral trade to reach $1 bilion in the next few years.
The agreement was reached on joint preparation for implementation of several investment projects in agricultural machine building, development and modernization of road and railway infrastructure.
The protocol reflecting important agreements reached during the meeting and main areas of further multifaceted partnership was signed following the talks.
The delegation of Tajikistan also visited several industrial enterprises and sites.
