AKIPRESS.COM - President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon on May 19 received participating delegations of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Foreign Ministers Council. Implementation of the action plan for implementation of the decisions of the Collective Security Council and priorities of Tajikistan's chairmanship of Collective Security Treaty Organization, the president's press service reported.
The meeting of CSTO Foreign Ministers Council was held in Dushanbe. The event was attended by the Foreign Ministers of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia, Tajikistan, CSTO Secretary General.
The CSTO Foreign Ministers Council considered cooperation in ensuring regional security, reinforcement of Tajik-Afghan border protection, joint respond to such threats and dangers as terrorism, extremism, transboundary crime, illicit drug trafficking.
The Collective Security Treaty was signed in 1992 in Tashkent. The decision on establishment of Collective Security Treaty Organization was made in 2002.
The Collective Security Treaty Organization includes Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan.
