AKIPRESS.COM - Tajikistan will receive Sputnik V vaccine free of charge in accordance with the agreement reached between the Presidents of two countries, Interfax reported with reference to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, who announced this after talks with Foreign Minister of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin. "We talked about jonint response to COVID-19, including handover of Sputnik V vaccine as agreed between our Presidents on May 8," Foreign Minister Lavrov said.
It was reported earlier Presidents Vladimir Putin and Emomali Rahmon met on May 8 in Moscow. Rahmon attended the Victory Parade.
Tajikistan earlier received 192,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine from 624,000 expected in total through COVAX program. This is 20% of needed doses.
