Prisoners tried to escape from prison in Moldovanovka, 1 shot dead, another one detained

AKIPRESS.COM - Prisoners tried to break out of penal colony No. 27 through the main fence, the State Penitentiary Service said on May 26. The incident occurred at approximately 02:40 on May 26 in the village of Moldovanovka, Chui region. A soldier from the Penitentiary Guards Department saw prisoners T.T. born in 1963 and K.I. born in 1999 in a no-go zone and fired a warning shot. After that he opened fire. As a result, one of the inmates died and the other was detained.
The convicts were serving sentences for especially grave crimes such as murder and rape of minors. They were sentenced to 10 years and 21 years in prison.
The case is under investigation.
