Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan sign deal on land use

AKIPRESS.COM - Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov held talks with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov on May 26 in Ashgabat.
The agreement between the governments of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan on joint intergovernmental commission for water issues and the additional agreement to the deal between the governments of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan on fee-based land use were signed by the Foreign Ministers of two countries during this visit.
The sides believe signing of these agreements will serve as a breakgthrough in shared use of transboundary water resources in a reasonable and fair manner, in the spirit of friendship and good neighborhood.
It was announced earlier Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov arrived in Ashgabat on a working visit on May 26.
FM Kamilov met with President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
