Foreign Ministry of Kyrgyzstan presents note of protest to Ambassador of Tajikistan demanding to remove military personnel from border

AKIPRESS.COM - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan today handed in the note of protest to the Ambassador of Tajikistan in connection with intrusion of military personnel and military vehicles of Tajikistan into the territory of Kyrgyzstan in Unzhu-Bulak area of Chon Alai district of Osh region.
The Ambassador of Tajikistan was informed the Tajik side breached all earlier reached agreements at the level of governmental delegations for delimitation and demarcation of the Kyrgyz-Tajik border and the protocol of the working meeting of representatives of the Defense Ministries of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan on May 1, 2021 and such provocative actions will inevitably lead to escalation of the situation on the border, the Foreign Ministry said.
Despite the agreements, representatives of Border Troops of Tajikistan ignore the calls and this way avoid the possibility of talks for de-escalation of the situation.
With the purpose of prevention of further escalation of situation in border areas, Kyrgyzstan has demanded from Tajikistan to dismantle the containers put up in Unzhu-Bulak area and to remove military personnel and military vehicles from the zone.
The Border Service of Kyrgyzstan said the Tajik side breached all earlier reached agreements and began putting up a container in early hours of June 4 in the undelimited border zone having intruded 1,000 m into the territory of Kyrgyzstan.
