Government proposes electricity tariff at 1.09 soms per 1 kWh for population

AKIPRESS.COM - A mid-term tariff policy has been developed and will be published for public discussion, said Minister of Energy and Industry Doskul Bekmurzaev on June 15. The new tariff policy differs from the previously proposed one, a single tariff for the population with no division is proposed now, he said.
Today's proposal is setting a tariff of 1.09 soms for the population, that is, the tariff is proposed to be increased by 0.32 soms, said the minister.
For residents of highlands there are no consumption limits both in winter and summer. For the rest of the population, the limit is up to 1000 kWh in the winter period only in connection with low water, he said.
Tariff for production of alcohol products, cement, metal smelting, mining is proposed to be increased to 5.04 soms, said the minister and expressed hope that the people will accept the new tariffs.
