Pneumonia cases dropped in Kyrgyzstan due to timely medical assistance sought by people - epidemiologist

AKIPRESS.COM - The third coronavirus wave is ongoing in Kyrgyzstan, State Epidemiological and Disease Control Department's epidemiological division chief Dinara Otorbaeva told AKIpress.
"People became more informed than in the past year. In case of symptoms, people seek medical assistance to confirm diagnosis. This year we are more prepared for surge in coronavirus cases. Last year the virus was new for us, people lacked knowledge and did not seek medical assistance timely," she said.
"Today we know how to treat and diagnose patients. Laboratory diagnostics is on a good level," she said.
The number of pneumonia cases dropped since people apply for medical assistance, she added.
"All want to know their diagnosis and to avoid complications," Dinara Otorbaeva stated.
