Price hike for potatoes and carrots speculated: State Agency for Antimonopoly Regulation

AKIPRESS.COM - Food prices have risen sharply in Kyrgyzstan lately, said Head of the State Agency for Antimonopoly Regulation Keneshbay Tailakov at an extraordinary meeting of the parliament committee on agrarian policy.
Today the inflation rate in the country is 4.8%, but there are seasonal factors affecting the price of some products including potatoes, carrots.
"Speculation is happening here, we started working on it," Tailakov said.
23 cases have been identified today, and anti-monopoly work is being carried out. Work is underway to prevent unreasonable price increases, he said.
