Kyrgyzstan asks 1.1 million doses of coronavirus vaccines, refrigerating equipment

AKIPRESS.COM - Kyrgyzstan asks 1.1 million doses of coronavirus vaccines and refrigerating equipment from Japan, the government's press service reported. Cabinet Vice Chairman Jyldyz Bakashova asked assistance of Ambassador of Japan Shigeki Maeda in consideration of this request.
Acceleration of vaccination pace is an urgent task for Kyrgyzstan now in view of a low number of vaccinated citizens.
"I am convinced Japan's support of vaccination of population in this uneasy time will make a significant contribution into achievement of necessary pace of vaccination of population and addressing negative implications of coronavirus pandemic," she said.
Ambassador Shigeki Maeda noted importance of vaccination of population and respect of security measures amid coronavirus pandemic.
Purchase of coronavirus vaccines and implemenation of international roads improvement project with JICA support were discussed during the meeting.
