Activists protest against MP Asylbayeva's bill, call for protection of freedom of speech

AKIPRESS.COM - A rally for the freedom of speech started on June 30 in front of the white house in Bishkek.
About 20 people are coming out against the bill on protection from false and unreliable information sponsored by MP Gulshat Asylbayeva.
Activist Rita Karasartova said consideration of the bill was not included in today's agenda of the parliament, but the parliament is likely to extend its work and pass this law in the next 2 weeks.
Karasartova recalled that a similar rally was held last year, when the bill was called "bill on manipulation of information."
"This is not a fight against fakes, it's against freedom of speech," said the activist.
