Infection with Delta variant sharply grew in Almaty, deputy mayor says

AKIPRESS.COM - The number of cases of infection with Delta strain of coronavirus increased sharply in Almaty, said deputy mayor of the city Yerzhan Babakumarov. For the last 10-14 days the number of new infections has grown sharply, he said. Delta accounted for 23% of the total number of infected initially and now it already reached 78% growing from 144 people infected per day to 305, Babakumarov was quoted by Tengrinews.kz as saying.
Majority of those infected developed symptoms, 23 people are asymptomatic.
