Flooding, blackout reported in Batken region after showers

AKIPRESS.COM - Mudflow was reported in Batken region on July 6, according to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic. Showers in Batken district at around 8 am caused overflowing of ditches in the villages of Gaz and Sogment leading to flooding of 4 backyards of houses. A power outage was reported in Gaz village. A taskforce of the district emergency department arrived on the spot.
Flooding was reported in Kadamjay district too. The water level of the river Ohna rose affecting 6 bridges, 230 meters of internal roads and 170 meters of ditches.
On July 7, clean up works were started.
