AKIPRESS.COM - A climber from Poland died while descending from Lenin Peak, press secretary of the Department of Internal Affairs of Osh region Jenish Ashirbayev confirmed. Incident occurred on July 7. A group of climbers climbed the Lenin Peak from Kashka-Suu, Chon-Alai district. At an altitude of 5100 meters, a citizen of Poland Petru Bernhard born in 1971 got a heart attack and died.
A group of 14 tourists including 12 Russian and 2 Polish citizens arrived at the base camp on July 2 and stayed for two days. Then on July 4 they reportedly ascended to an altitude of 4,400 meters and stayed there for a day.
On July 6, the climbers reached the altitude of 4,800 meters and on July 7, they reached 5,100 meters. When they started to descend, the Polish national walked ahead of the group and fell to the ground losing consciousness. He was given artificial respiration, but he did not regain consciousness.
The body of the Polish citizen was taken to the Osh forensic medicine center.
