Border guards exchange fire on Kyrgyz-Tajik border

AKIPRESS.COM - The shootout between border guards of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan occurred on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border at around 5:00 PM of July 8, the Border Service of Kyrgyzstan said.
The mounted border squad was patrolling the Kyrgyz-Tajik border near the Naumin pass, Leilek district of Batken region. On their route the squad was suddenly attacked by Tajik border guards near the Chashmagildan pass. The shootout between the border guards occurred.
The information on casualties is yet to be determined.
The representatives of the border agencies of two countries are investigating the incident, the Border Service said.
