Kyrgyz border guards were attacked by Tajik side, Border Service says

AKIPRESS.COM - The shootout between border guards of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan occurred at around 5:00 PM on July 8, the Border Service of Kyrgyzstan said.
The mounted border squad of Kyrgyzstan was patrolling the border near Naumin pass, Leilek district, Batken region, when they were suddenly attacked by the border guards of Tajikistan.
The Tajik side says Kyrgyz border guards violated the line of the border and intended to drive away horses.
"When warned by Tajik border guards about violation of the border, Kyrgyz border guards opened fire from automatic weapon. Two border intruders were wounded by return fire of Tajik border guards," the Border Troops of Tajikistan said.
