Almost 200 additional hospital beds prepared in Bishkek for coronavirus patients

AKIPRESS.COM - Supply of medical equipment and preparedness of health professionals are higher this year than before, Deputy Minister of Health and Social Development Jalalidin Rahmatullaev told a briefing on July 9.
5,888 hospital beds in 70 hospitals were prepared in total, 2,153 of them in Bishkek. 452 of these beds are in intensive care units, 158 of them in Bishkek. 223 hospitals beds are vacant across the country, 48 of these beds are intensive care units, the Deputy Health Minister said.
190 additional hospital beds were prepared in Bishkek yesterday evening, at the National Infectious Disease Hospital and at the dormitory of the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy, 20 of these beds are intensive care units, he said.
There are 5,500 oxygen concentrators and 457 lung ventilators in hospitals. Around 3,000 oxygen concentrators and near 400 life caving ventilators are in reserve, the Deputy Health Minister said.
200 additional bed hospitals more were prepared across the country. The total number of hospital beds in reserve is 400, he said.
